Within the SMARTWELD project (EU RFCS-2022, GA No. 101112414), significant progress has been made in WP4 – Development of an Online Monitoring Platform at TRL4, led by Silesian University of Technology (SUT), Poland.
OPTOPRIM successfully developed a multi-sensor monitoring platform to enable real-time quality monitoring of Laser Beam Welding and Laser-Hybrid Welding processes.
The work included:
- Integration of multiple sensing technologies, including a CAVITAR C400_B camera and with real-time acquisition of welding process signals such as current and voltage.
- Development of a real-time monitoring platform for hybrid welding processes.
- Establishment of a foundation for intelligent weld quality assessment and process monitoring.
The figure shows the integrated monitoring platform, combining a welding robot, laser head, MAG torch, and multi-sensor system to support advanced, data-driven quality monitoring for next-generation hybrid welding technologies.
